About CTGU
China Three Gorges University (CTGU) is located in Yichang city, Hubei province, China. The history of CTGU can be traced back to 1923. The undergraduate education program started in 1978, and the postgraduate and international education programs started in 1996, which are approved by the Ministry of Education. Currently, CTGU has more than 1,500 students from more than 70 countries and is the largest provincial affiliated university in terms of the number of international students and English medium programs. As the member of United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI) and the Standing Secretariat of Global University Network (N.E.W.S.), CTGU has established cooperative relationships with more than 170 universities from more than 60 countries. About College of Basic Medical Sciences
College of Basic Medical Sciences of CTGU integrates functions including teaching, scientific research and student management and its history can be traced back to 1923 when it was known as China Medical Technicians Special School. After several stages of development, College of Basic Medical Sciences was established in July 2022.

Characteristics
There are two academic master’s programs of first-level discipline in Basic Medicine and Clinical Medicine and a professional master’s program in Clinical Medicine. There are two undergraduate majors in Clinical Medicine and Medical Imaging. Clinical Medicine ranks in the top 1% of ESI disciplines.
In 2004, the college enrolled the first batch of international undergraduates majoring in Clinical Medicine. In 2011, CTGU became one of the 44 authorized universities to recruit international undergraduates of Clinical Medicine (English medium) approved by the Ministry of Education (MOE). The college started to enroll international postgraduates majoring in Clinical Medicine and CSC students in 2012 and 2019 respectively. In 2023, the college set up one more undergraduate major which is Clinical Medicine (Chinese medium). The college has already cultivated 962 graduates from countries including Pakistan, Nepal and Bangladesh for the past twenty one years. These graduates are now employed by the local medical and health institutions or going further study. The training effect has been highly evaluated by the parents of students and the health department of students’ home countries.

(1) Several experimental teaching platforms including Basic Medical Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center among universities in Hubei province, Clinical Skills Training Center (National Standardized Training Base and Examination Base for Resident Doctors) and Standardized Laboratory Animal Center;
(2) 8 provincial and ministerial medical research platforms including Hubei Key Laboratory of Tumor Microenvironment and Immunotherapy and Hubei Key Laboratory of Ischemic Cardiovascular Disease;
(3) 3 National clinical key construction specialties including Cardiovascular, Orthopaedics and Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine;
(4) 3 provincial clinical medical research centers including Hubei Clinical Medical Research Center for Ischemic Vascular Disease and Hubei Clinical Medical Research Center for Rare Diseases of nervous system;
(5) 17 Teaching and research platforms including Institute of Infection and Inflammatory Injury (P2+ Lab) with bureau level;
(6) 10 scientific research teams including neurological and psychiatric diseases;
(7) 13 affiliated hospitals and about 20 teaching hospitals.
